Market positioning analysis
A clear view of where you compete, against whom, and which segments represent the highest-value opportunity given your current capabilities and the competitive landscape in your region.
Strategy
Our strategy engagements turn fragmented ambitions into a focused direction your team can act on every day.
Strategy consulting is not about producing a five-year plan and handing it over. At Mountainfieldx we facilitate a structured discovery process — interviewing leadership, analysing market data, reviewing financial performance — before co-designing a strategic framework with your team. Typical engagements run eight to twelve weeks and conclude with a prioritised set of strategic choices, a resource allocation model, and a 90-day action roadmap. The client leaves with documents they understand and a leadership team aligned on the decisions that matter most. We work with SMEs, NGOs, county government agencies, and regional subsidiaries of larger groups.
A clear view of where you compete, against whom, and which segments represent the highest-value opportunity given your current capabilities and the competitive landscape in your region.
A documented set of ‘where to play / how to win’ decisions, stress-tested against three scenarios so leadership can make confident commitments even under uncertainty.
An implementation-ready plan with named owners, measurable milestones, and explicit dependencies — so the strategy does not stall in the first quarter after we leave.
A half-day facilitated session where your executive team debates the strategic choices and reaches genuine consensus — not polite agreement that unravels in the first board meeting.
Strategy work is most valuable when an organisation faces a genuine fork in the road: entering a new market, responding to a disruptive competitor, restructuring after a merger, or recovering from a period of stagnation. It is less suited to organisations that need operational fixes before any strategic clarity can take hold — in those cases we typically recommend beginning with our Operations service. Strategy cannot substitute for execution capacity, and we will say so plainly if that is what we find.
“We came to Mountainfieldx thinking we needed a new marketing strategy. After two weeks of their discovery process, it became clear the real problem was how we priced our wholesale contracts. They helped us see the business differently. Twelve months later our gross margin had improved by 18 percentage points.”
